Dot Turton

I have been employed in the statutory and voluntary sector for the last 31 years (arghhh!) recovery is something that’s close to my heart and something that’s not only a job, I actively promote recovery initiatives and personally participate in recovery events in my own time. I have instigated and executed events that create opportunities to showcase visible recovery that challenge stigma. I am absolutely privileged to experience recovery journeys and witness the effect of recovery on individuals and families lives.  I believe in empowerment and celebration of differences. I do not believe in ‘ownership’ my aim is to be a catalyst and inspire others to take on the ownership which is very, very important to me.  I am extremely pleased and honoured to be a trustee for Faces and Voices of Recovery UK Charity and am really excited about getting stuck in spending time with some very inspirational people.
