Get Involved

The important work we do at FAVOR is only possible thanks to you, our friends, family, members and sponsors.

Every year people generously donate their own money and take part in fundraising activities on our behalf. Whether you’re in recovery yourself, a recovery service provider, family or friends of someone in recovery, or simply want to help, there are many ways in which you can get involved and support our work.

By joining and supporting FAVOR UK, recovering people, their families, friends and work colleagues, can stand up and speak out in order to educate the public and influence policy makers.

By speaking out together, we support and give hope to individuals who are still struggling with addiction and to those who have found the power of long-term recovery.
Become a member and help more people find recovery by spreading the message that prevention works, treatment is effective, and recovery from addiction is a lived reality in millions of people’s lives.

Recovery Saves Lives.

FAVOR UK are involved in planning for International Recovery Month, which takes place every September.

Recovery Month is held to increase awareness, challenge stigma, and celebrate the success of those in recovery from all addictive behaviours.

What is Recovery Month?

Now in its 32nd year, Recovery Month celebrates the gains made by those in recovery, just as we celebrate improvements made by those who are managing other health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and heart disease.

Each September, Recovery Month works to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the emergence of a strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and community members across the nation who make recovery in all its forms possible.

The theme for 2021 National Recovery Month is “Recovery is For Everyone: Every Person, Every Family, Every Community,”

Organising an event for Recovery Month is an ideal way to celebrate the achievements of the recovery community. Events bring people together to share real life experiences of the power of recovery. Download our Recovery Month Toolkit Here

World wide International Recovery Month is now
in its 32nd year

We as individuals who have reclaimed our lives can really promote and celebrate the virtues of what being in recovery actually means. We do this not just with each other, but by offering ourselves as living proof of recovery, offering hope to those that still suffer, challenging stereotypes, and myths about addiction. In doing so, everyone helps to increase awareness and furthers a greater understanding about recovery, how it works, who it works for, and why such projects and services are so badly needed in our communities.

At FAVOR, we lead, and participate in numerous events, such as rallies, walks, runs, bicycle rides, and speaking engagements. We hope you will continue to join us during Recovery Month or be participants in your local events, raising the national profile of the growing recovery movement.

What are you doing to get ready? Having a party? A sponsored climb a mountain? Or maybe organising a blow your socks off event in your community? Whatever it is – it’s not to early to start thinking about it and getting folks interested in taking part and contributing.
